This year’s anthology of poems from Live from Worktown is on the theme of love and is appropriately being launched on Valentine’s Day. I was asked if I had any suitable photographs that would work in the book, so I’m pleased to say that this shot of a new, unfurling fern in the shape of a heart has found its way on to the back cover, along with a witty, heartfelt poem by Rachel Appleton, a local singer, songwriter, poet and artist.
Searching
I looked for him on the highest of mountains
I walked the deserts and searched the jungles
I did not find him there
I found him on the road
He had been to the pub
