I was lucky enough to be invited by Live from Worktown to help organise and judge a recent photo competition, along with LfW member and local historian, Dave Burnham. With a general theme of “Life under Lockdown”, people were encouraged to submit photos taken with either a camera or smart phone, in the categories of PPE, Out and About and At Home.
We received a fabulously diverse set of shots that explored the theme creatively, imaginatively and conveyed a wide range of emotions. Some brought out humour, others focussed on the hurt of separation from loved ones and a few on the surreal and weird nature of these times.
Live from Worktown is a resident-led community arts and heritage organisation working in partnership to bring cultural activities to the heart of Bolton.
