An exhibition of photography at FaMAS, Bolton, 9th 10th May
I was so delighted to be invited by the FaMAS artists to be a guest artist in their May 2025 Open Studio event, so I thought I’d record my selection of photographs in a blog post. FaMAS (Falcon Mill Artist Studios) is a vibrant and growing community of talented artists and artisans in Bolton, so I feel particularly privileged to rub shoulders with them at this Open Studio exhibition.
After much deliberation, I eventually whittled down a selection of over 30 photographs to 11, to fit the five metre length of wall space allocated to me. Even in just a small selection of images, this exhibition shows my progression as a photographer from landscapes into different genres and my more recent use of creative techniques such as multiple exposures and image blending.
In choosing this selection of photographs, I realised that my inspiration comes from a keen interest in place and a sense of location. Combining photography with my other passions of travel, hiking, culture and heritage gives me a wonderfully diverse range of opportunities for creativity and exploration.
