I’m pleased to say that this rather unassuming photo has been chosen as the basis for an illustration in a recently published anthology of poetry resulting from a collaboration between the Bolton Station Community Partnership and Live from Worktown.
Starting out as an idea to bring in the local arts community to help make Bolton Station more welcoming for travellers, this venture has led to the launch of a poetry competition, open to all ages, on the theme of journey.
Going by the amazing poems featured in the anthology, judging must have been an incredibly hard task, but the poems that made it into print are wonderfully poignant and thoughtful, creatively exploring the theme to produce an engaging and thoroughly enjoyable read.
I have to say that my original photo has been expertly crafted by Paul Neads at Flapjack Press to fit in with the tone and style of the book, echoing the black and white of the lovely ink drawings by Alison Timmins.
If you’d like a copy of the anthology, please contact Julie Levy at boltonstationcdp@gmail.co.uk. – cost £5 plus £2 postage and packing.
